Reasons To Not Sell Your Home During Summer In Florida
It’s Hot
Not only is it Florida, but it’s summertime! So, we know its heating up outside. With this in mind, some people may not want to go out. Besides the high temperatures, its also rainy season, which can keep prospective buyers away.
The buyers that do come to your house may be very critical of just how cold (or not cold) your air conditioner is. They probably won’t take into consideration that when having a showing people are in and out which lets out the cold air.
It’s Dusty
Even if you live in a dry area or a humid area, the summertime heat produces dust, which will track into your home and covers everything. That can be a real mess. And while the sun is beaming through the windows, it makes the dust floating around the air that much noticeable.
There Are Fewer Buyers
During the summer most people are taking vacations and getting away from their busy lives. The kids are on break from school and most likely time off from work has already been booked. With that said, there will be fewer people actively looking for homes at that time.
There Are More Sellers
Even though there are fewer buyers, many sellers love selling in the summer because they think it’s more convenient. Therefore, you’re not just competing for fewer buyers to look at your house, you’re competing against more sellers. Therefore, it’s harder to sell your house and even harder to sell it at a price you want.
